Solstice Serenity: A Soma Breath Journey
Sunday, December 18
This winter solstice is calling forth a unique SOMA Breath experience to be shared with the community. An experience of peace, of relaxation, of bliss, and serenity. As always, this breath journey will be about listening to and honoring the body, just in a slightly different way. We will be honoring and attuning to nature's rhythms by slowing things down with a gentler approach, to bring you the nourishment you need this winter.
We will be exploring techniques that engage the parasympathetic nervous system and induce the theta brain-wave state, bringing the mind and body into a deep state of rest. This dream-like state is very healing, as it gives the body space to repair and rejuvenate during a time where we all are being called to slow down.
As one of the Pacific Northwest’s only SOMA breath facilitators, Matthew Chavez is inspired to share the life-changing process with everyone. Matthew has always had a deep curiosity and drive for exploring the inner space of the human body/mind. Experiencing a traumatic back injury at age 18, Matthew needed a long term solution for managing and healing the pain. Committed to a deeper healing process he discovered Soma Breath. It was through Soma Breath he unearthed a sacred connection to breath, what has become an essential relationship to nurture.
